Jacks Knob Trail

| Beginning with a short climb from the
Brasstown Bald parking lot, the 4.5 mile Jacks Knob Trail then
descends 1,500' through a series of switchbacks which cover 2.3 miles.
Crossing GA 180 in Jacks Gap, Jacks Knob Trail then climbs 2.2 miles
to the Appalachian Trail at Chattahoochee Gap. Jacks Knob Trail enters
the Mark Trail Wilderness about 0.2 miles south of Jacks Gap. Rated
moderate, Jacks Knob Trail receives moderate use. |

To reach Brasstown Bald from Blairsville
Georgia, travel south along US 19/129 for 8 miles and turn left
(east) onto GA 180. Continue along GA 180 for 8 miles and turn left
(north) onto GA 180 Spur. Travel 3 miles to the Brasstown Bald Visitor
Center parking lot. The trail leaves the parking from the southern end.
