Fannin County Georgia Hiking Trails

Stanley Gap Trail

Available for both hiking and biking, the 5 mile Stanley Gap Trail begins at Deep Gap (Elevation 2,243') and travels southwest on Davenport Mountain. Turning southeast, Stanley Gap Trail climbs Rocky Mountain before descending to Stanley Gap on Stanley Creek Road.

Stanley Gap Trail is easier to hike when traveling from Deep Gap toward Stanley Gap.

To reach Stanley Gap Trail from Blue Ridge Georgia, travel east toward Blairsville Georgia along GA 515 for 0.8 miles and turn right at Windy Ridge Road. Travel 0.2 miles along Windy Ridge Road to it's dead end with Old US 76 and turn left. Continue along Old US 76 for 0.2 miles and turn right onto Aska Road. Travel south along Aska Road for 4.4 miles to Deep Gap. This is the eastern end of Stanley Gap Trail.

To reach the western end of Stanley Gap Trail continue west 4.2 miles to the parking area 100 yards below Stanley Gap on Rock Creek Road.

Note: Stanly Creek Road becomes Rock Creek Road after crossing the Fannin/Gilmer County line.
