Wine Spring Loop

Located in the Wayah Ranger District of the Nantahala National Forest,
the 7.5 mile Wine Spring Loop Trail crosses Goat Bald (4,800'). Goat Bald
is a large wildlife field which offers great views. Looking to the west,
parts of the Great
Smoky Mountains and the Chilhowee Mountains in Tennessee are visible.
Wine Spring Loop is one of two loops which make up the Wine Spring Horse Trail
System.

From Franklin
North Carolina, Travel west along US 64 to the Wayah Bald
directional sign and turn right. Immediately turn left onto Wayah Road
(SR 1310). Continue along Wayah Road for 10 miles to Forest Service Road
711 and turn right. Follow FR 711 for 4.5 miles to Wine Spring Horse
Camp.
From US 19, turn east onto Wayah Road (SR 1310) at the
Nantahala River Launch Site. Travel 12 miles along Wayah Road and turn
left onto Forest Service Road 711. Follow FR 711 for 4.5 miles.

From Andrews
North Carolina, travel from US 19, through downtown Andrews
along US 19 Business. After traveling through Andrews turn right onto
Junaluska Road (SR 1505). Continue along Junaluska Road for 14 miles to
Wayah Road (SR 1310) and turn right. Continue along Wayah Road for 5
miles to Forest Service Road 711. Follow FR 711 for 4.5 miles to Wine
Spring Horse Camp.
