Traveling southeast from the top of Aspen Mountain to
Taylor Pass, the 12 mile Richmond Hill Road is rated moderate because of
the steep sections found at the beginning and end of this road. From
the top of Aspen Mountain travel east behind the gondola onto Richmond
Hill Road heading south. Bear left at the fork found at the bottom of a
steep hill at the 1.25 mile mark. The last section of the road switchbacks
up, then descends to the top of Taylor Pass. Express Creek Road to Castle
Creek Road may be taken on the return to Aspen. |
