Arapaho

Located within the Boulder Ranger District, Heart Lake: South Boulder
Creek Trail leaves the northwest side of the parking area at the East
Portal trailhead and partially follows an old road that leads around the
north side of the historic Moffat Tunnel. South Boulder Creek Trail then
leads west on an uphill grade, following South Boulder Creek to it's
source, Heart & Roger's Pass Lakes. Forest Lakes Trail
#809 forks to the north in the second open meadow at a trail
junction sign.

Continuing southwest on South Boulder Creek Trail the grade grows
steeper. Crater Lakes Trail
#819 forks to the north after another 0.75 miles after the first
switchback. South Boulder Creek Trail continues for about a mile to
Rogers Pass Lake. Heart Lake is located north of Roger's Pass Lake, over
a 250' rise. To reach South Boulder Creek Trail from Nederland
Colorado, travel south along CO119 and go west out of Rollinsville on CR
16 (gravel), also called Moffat Road or Rollins Pass Road. Continue 7
miles along CR 16 to it's end at a T-junction. Turn left and continue 1
mile to the East Portal Trailhead or, if you have a high-clearance
vehicle, go right and travel another 11 miles to the Forest Lakes
Trailhead.
