Turtleback Falls

| Turtleback Falls is about 20 feet high.
Directions:
Directions to the Horse Pasture River:
From Hwy64w & Hwy281s. proceed .7 miles south on Hwy 281s. to Gorges
State Park. From the parking area walk back to Hwy 281s, turn left proceed
approximately 40 yards to a service road, follow this road/trail one mile
to Turtleback Falls (USFS/Nantahala
Forest) on the Horse Pasture River.
From Turtleback Falls go upstream approximately .25 miles to view Drift
Falls (PRIVATE PROPERTY), this area is strictly enforced, swimming and
trespassing are prohibited. From Turtleback Falls proceed down stream
approximately .3 miles to Rainbow Falls.

parking to all
three falls is a strenuous 3.0 to 3.5 miles. |
