Located within Frozen
Head State Park and Natural Area, the 3.6 mile North Old Mac Mountain
Trail leads to the lookout tower at the top of Frozen Head Mountain.
Offering views of the Great Smoky Mountains, Cumberland Mountains and the
Cumberland Plateau, North Old Mac Mountain Trail is rated moderate and has
an elevation change of 1,800'.
To reach Frozen Head State and Natural Area from Harriman Tennessee,
travel north along Highway 27 to Wartburg and turn right (east) onto
Highway 62. Continue along Highway 62 for 2 miles and turn left onto
Flat Fork Road. Travel 4 miles along Flat Fork Road to the park entrance.
