Rating: Moderate/Strenuous
A round trip hike that provides access to
the top of Hickory Nut
Falls. Each is most strenuous the first 20
minutes or so, and then becomes more moderate. Most hikers enjoy
going to the falls on one trail and returning on the other.
Chimney Rock Park is a
privately-owned, natural scenic attraction. An admission fee is charged.
Directions:
From East Asheville North Carolina
Take Interstate 240 East to Exit #9 (Bat Cave and Highway 74A East).
Stay on 74A East for 20 miles and the Park entrance will be on the right.
From West Asheville North Carolina
Take Interstate 26 East toward Hendersonville. Get off at Exit #18A
(Bat Cave and Highway 64 East). Stay on 64 East for 15 miles and the Park
entrance will be on the right.
