Ute Peak Trail #24

River National Forest
Available for hiking, and mountain biking (up
to the Wilderness Boundary), Ute Peak Trail travels 4.9 miles to Ute Peak
and 12.8 miles to Ptarmigan Peak. An intersection is
reached about 2.5 miles from the Ute Peak trailhead. Turning left will
take you into the Sulphur Ranger District of Arapaho
National Forests and on into the Williams Fork River drainage. Ute
Peak Trail continues along the right fork. Ptarmigan Peak Wilderness is
reached 0.5 miles from Ute Peak. Acorn Creek Trail
intersects with Ute Peak Trail about 0.7 miles past the Wilderness
boundary. At Ptarmigan Peak the Ute Peak Trail intersects with Ptarmigan Trail
which travels southwest to the town of Silverthorne Colorado. |

| To reach Ute Peak Trail from I-70, take exit
205 for Silverthorne/Dillon and travel 12.68 miles north along Highway 9
to the intersection with Ute Pass Road (CR 15). Travel 5.19 miles along
Ute Pas Road to the large parking area on the right. |
