Available for both hiking and horseback riding,
the 4 mile Acorn Creek Trail offers great views of the Gore Range. About
30 yards from the trailhead you will reach a barbed wire fence with a gate
and a step stile over the fence. Please close the gate behind you.
Reaching the Ptarmigan Peak Wilderness boundary at about 1.7 miles, Acorn
Creek Trail continues on to intersect with Ute Peak Trail. |

| To reach Acorn Creek Trail from
I-70, exit 205 for Silverthorne/Dillon Colorado. Travel north along
Highway 9 for about 10.63 miles to FR 2400 and turn right. Continue along
FR 2400 for 0.42 miles to a fork in the road. Turn right onto FR 2402 and
travel 0.62 miles to the trailhead. |
