must be restrained or on a leash at all times while in developed
recreation areas.
On the way up to Chilhowee Campground & Day Use Area,
stop at one of the many observation overlooks to see beautiful mountain
settings. Wildlife is abundant in this area, so tread lightly.
Chilhowee's 82 campground loops are open from early April
to late October. The day-use areas and 12 overflow tent sites are open
year round. There are plenty of recreation opportunities at Chilhowee
campground. From April to September campground hosts are available.
Activities include a 7-acre lake for swimming, approximately 25 miles of
hiking and biking trails, and a scenic waterfall.

Trailer Dump station, bathhouses, flush toilets, warm
water showers in loops A, B and F, electric hook-ups in loops A & B,
drinking water, grills, picnic tables, and lantern posts at each site. The
day-use area includes picnic sites and a group picnic area.
Directions:
From the Ocoee Ranger Station turn left onto Forest
Service Road 77. Travel about 7.3 miles to the campground sign, turn right
into campground and travel 0.4 mile to the recreation area.
