Backbone Trail

Traveling through Shrub lands, pastures, old roads and several old
homestead sites, the 5.5 mile Backbone Trail is a relatively flat
primitive trail and begins at the Backbone Horse Campground.
To reach Backbone Trail from Watkins Glen New York turn right
onto NY 414 North, at the Forth Street intersection travel 9.0 miles
north past the Hector Ranger Station (on right). Turn right onto
Schuyler County Route 2 and continue 3.5 miles east. Backbone
Campground is on the left, opposite the intersection with Burnt Hill
Road.
