Fort Frederick State Park

Having been restored to their 1758 appearance, Fort Frederick's stone wall and two barracks were originally the site of Maryland's frontier defense during the French and Indian War (1754-1763). Today Fort Frederick State Park offers it's visitors recreational opportunities such as hiking, cross country skiing, fishing, flat water canoeing, and a playground.

Directions:

Fort Frederick State Park is located in the Cumberland Valley, 18 miles west of Hagerstown and 1.0 mile south of I70 near Big Pool (Rt. 56, Exit 12), in Washington County.
