Available for both cross country skiing, snowshoeing,
and snowmobiling, the 6.7 mile Peru Creek Road is rated easy to
moderate and receives heavy use. The ski trail follows Peru Creek Road up
to Peru Creek drainage to Horseshoe Basin. Morgan Peak comes into view
after 0.5 miles followed by the snowcapped top of Copper Mountain across
the valley on your left. Pennsylvania Mine is to your right after another
mile, with Peruvian Mine (left) located another 1.2 miles. |

| To reach Peru Creek Road from
I-70, exit 205 for Silverthorne/Dillon and travel east along Highway 6 to
Montezuma Road (CR 5), just past Keystone Colorado. Follow along Montezuma
Road for 4.6 miles to the pull-out parking area on the left, which is the
trailhead for Peru Creek Road. |
