Three Island Lake Trail #1163, Routt County Colorado Hiking Trails

Available for hiking and horseback riding, the 6.1 mile Three Island Lake Trail climbs gradually up to Lookout Rock where views of the South Fork of the Elk River Valley are available.

To reach Three Island Lake Trail from Steamboat Colorado, travel west along Highway 40 for 2 miles to Elk River Road (CR 129) and turn right. Continue along CR 129 for about 25 miles and turn east onto Seedhouse Road #400. Travel about 10 miles along Seedhouse road, past Seedhouse Campground to FR 443 and turn right. The trailhead is located about 3 miles down this road.
