Rabbit Ears Peak Trail #291, Routt County Colorado Hiking Trails

Available for hiking, biking, ATV's, motorcycles and horseback riding, the 8.3 mile Rabbit Ears Peak Trail travels along an old jeep trail as it winds through meadows and some forest to Rabbit Ears Peak.

To reach Rabbit Ears Peak Trail from Steamboat, travel 19 miles east up Rabbit Ears Pass along Highway 40 and turn north (left) at Dumont Lake Campground sign. continue along FR 315 past Dumont Lake Picnic Area & Campground Area turnoffs until reaching the old stone monument and historic marker. Turn left onto FR 311 and park, or continue just past the gate and turn right onto FR 291 and park.
