North Lake Trail #1164, Routt County Colorado Hiking Trails

Available for hiking and horseback riding, the 5.4 mile North Lake Trail enters Mt. Zirkel Wilderness near it's beginning along a steep climb with switchbacks. Travel left at the fork. Soon the trail reaches the lake then travels on to open meadow, then a fairly easy walk up to the Divide.

From Steamboat, travel 2 miles west along Highway 40 and turn right onto CR 129. Travel north about 25 miles to Seedhouse Road and turn onto FR 400 and travel past Seedhouse Campground. Stay right onto FR 443. Continue past Three Island Lake Trailhead, 1.5 miles to North Lake Trailhead.
