Hare Trail #1199, Routt County Colorado Hiking Trails

Available for hiking, biking, ATVs, Motorcycles and horseback riding, the 2.5 mile Hare Trail follows the Middle Fork of the Little Snake River up to the divide and is rated Difficult.

To reach Hare Trail from Steamboat Springs Colorado, travel 2 miles west along Highway 40 and turn right onto CR 129. Follow CR 129 for about 32 miles until it forks just past Columbine and turn right onto FR 550. Travel 2.5 miles and turn right onto FR 500. Continue along FR 500 to Access #1 to FR 500. Travel 2 miles east on FR 500 and turn right onto FR 550. Continue straight when 505 turns right on 520 for another 1.5 miles to the trailhead.
