Available for hiking, horseback riding,
North Fork Conejos River Trail starts at the western edge of the
alpine meadows about 0.4 miles from the Three Forks sign. North Fork
Conejos River Trail follows the North Fork of the Conejos River and
enters an Engelamm spruce and alpine fir stand shortly after starting.
While in the conifer stand, the trail rises steeply through several
switchbacks before entering a meadow.

The meadow is long & narrow with steep slopes on both sides of the
trail. Traveling through the meadow for about a mile with little change
in elevation, a view of the Continental Divide is available. The trail
crosses the river 0.5 mile form the end of the meadow and then enters a
conifer stand and starts it's final rise to the Continental Divide
Trail.
