White
River National Forest
Available for both hiking and biking, the 4
mile Miller Divide Trail provides views of Fryingpan Valley, Rocky Fork
Creek and access to some of the best deer & elk habitat in the
country. The first part of Miller Divide Trail is steep, but flattens out
on top with a short downhill to Rock Fork Creek. To reach
Miller Divide Trail from Carbondale, travel east along Highway 82 to
Basalt and turn left at the stoplight onto Fryingpan River Road. |
|
| Continue about 23 miles along
Fryingpan River Road to the inlet of Ruedi Reservoir and turn right onto
the dirt road just after the bridge that crosses the river. Travel past
the campground entrance and turn left onto the first dirt road. Continue
past the house and turn right at the fork, continue to the gate. Park at
the gate (do not block). The first part of Miller Divide Trail crosses
private property. |
