Anthracite Pass Trail #1969

Recommended for experienced backpackers, the 1 mile
Anthracite Pass Trail is rated very difficult. The trail begins 0.25 mile
up Yule Creek Trail and ends at the pass. Anthracite Pass Trail is
available for hikers and horseback riders and offers great
views of the surrounding peaks. To reach Anthracite Pass
Trail from Carbondale Colorado, travel south along CO 133 for 25 miles and
turn left onto CR 3. Continue along CR 3 for 7 miles to the town of
Marble. |

| Turn right a the fire station and
park at the old Marble Mill Historical Site. Cross the bridge and travel
up the Marble Quarry Road 1.75 miles. Yule Creek Trail #2083 trailhead is
on the right, about 0.25 mile before the quarry. Shortly after beginning
to hike up Yule Creek Trail take a right turn onto Anthracite Pass Trail. |
