Pitkin County Colorado 4WD Trails
Pearl Pass Road #102
|
|
White
River National Forest
Often covered in snow until late July, the 6.5 mile Pearl
Pass Road does not clear of snow sufficiently to allow passage some years. The
first 0.5 mile of Pearl Pass Road is fairly level after which it begins to
climb. there are some steep uphill sections along with a stream crossing
at 1.5 miles. Continuing to climb through spruce groves and crossing a
vehicle bridge, Pearl Pass Road becomes steeper and more rugged. |

|
Mace cabin is reached at the 3 mile mark. A quarter mile
past the cabin the road to Pearl Pass forks steeply to the left (right
travels to Montezuma Basin). To reach Pearl Pass Trail from
Aspen Colorado, travel west along Highway 82 for 0.5 mile to the
Roundabout. Travel around the roundabout and turn right onto Castle Creek
Road. The beginning of this route is located about 2 miles beyond Ashcroft. |
