Named for the American west landscapes painter Albert Bierstadt, the 3.5 mile
Bierstadt Trail descends gently toward Scott Gomer Creek. At 11,470' the trail
crosses Scott Gomer Creek and begins it's ascent toward the summit.
From the
creek Bierstadt Trail climbs gradually up through the willows, then up onto the
broad northwest shoulder. Nearing the summit, Bierstadt Trail grows steeper and
less defined along the rocky ridge.
