San Juan National Forest Trails

Fourmile Trail #569

Located within the Pagosa Ranger District of San Juan National Forest, the 8 mile (to junction with Turkey Creek Trail #580) Fourmile Trail is one of the more popular destinations within the Pagosa Ranger District.

Approximately 3.5 miles into Fourmile Trail reaches Fourmile Falls, after continuing past the second falls the trail becomes rugged. Due to the deteriorating condition of the trail between the waterfall & the junction with the Anderson Trail, this section is not recommended for stock users. Fourmile Trail climbs above the falls, past Turkey Creek Lake and joins the Turkey Creek Trail at about 8 miles.

Fourmile trailhead is located at the end of County Road 400/FDR 645.

Weminuche Wilderness is located within Hinsdale, La Plata, Mineral, and San Juan Counties.
