Animas River Drainage
Located within the Columbine Ranger District of
San Juan National Forest, the 10.0 mile South Fork Trail is rated more
difficult and receives light use. South Fork Trail begins and at an
elevation of 10,200' (End of Junction Creek Road) and an ending elevation
of 7,800' (Hermosa Creek).
South Fork Trail requires a few creek crossings and
provides access to several other trails.
