Sawmill Creek Trail

and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland
Available for snowshoeing & cross-country skiing, the
4 mile Sawmill Creek Trail may be accessed by parking at the Blue Lake
Trailhead and walking 100 yards west along CO 14 and over the highway
bridge. Follow the old logging road 1.5 miles into a giant clearcut where
the trail forks. For the more adventurous , continue west across the clear
cut and follow faint old roads & trails towards timberline. The left
fork continues about 1.5 mile toward the timberline. |

| The right fork continues 2 miles as the Sawmill
Creek drainage. Near timberline pick you way up to either the north or
south cirques of Sawmill Creek. |
