Located within the Canyon Lakes Ranger District, the 12.2 mile Big
South Trail follows the Poudre River & intersects the river after 7
miles. There is no bridge over the river.
To reach Big South Trail travel 11 miles northwest of Fort Collins
along US 287 & CO 14. Turn left onto CO 14 and travel 49 miles west.
Big South Trailhead is located on the left just before the road crosses
a bridge and comes to Big South
Campground.
