Located in the Halfmoon Drainage Area of the Leadville Ranger District,
the 5.5 mile Halfmoon Road (FR 110) begins about 1 mile west of Highway 24
on CR 300 (Fish Hatchery Road), turn left following the sighs to the
Halfmoon Campgrounds. Halfmoon Road is passable for the first 7.1 miles by
passenger car to the Mt. Massive trailhead. Starting there, ride west 5.5
miles t the Mt. Champion Mill. |

moderate/difficult and offers a gradual climb with a few steep pitches
through Lodgepole Pine forest.
Halfmoon Drainage is located 10 miles southwest of Leadville. |
