|
|
Routt
National Forest
Available for hiking, biking, and horseback
riding, the 5.8 mile Haystack Creek Trail lies within the Troublesome
Area. The steepest part of Haystack Creek Trail is at it's beginning.
Following a number of switchbacks as it drops in elevation, Haystack Creek
Trail passes across a talus slope until the valley widens in the meadow.
Haystack Creek Trail climbs above the creek where it passes 2 smaller
creeks, before ending 2 miles up the Middle Fork Trail from Troublesome
Creek Trail. |
|
| To reach Haystack Creek Trail from
Kremmling Colorado travel east along Highway 40 past Hot Sulphur Springs
to Highway 125. Continue along Highway 125 over Willow Creek Pass to FR
106 on the left. Follow FR 106 to FR 730 and turn right. Travel along FR
730 for a mile to a small road to the left which travels to the
Troublesome Pass Trailhead.
Parking at the Troublesome Pass trailhead is limited as it is not
suitable for horse trailers or passenger cars. Horse trailers normally
park along FR 106 just before going uphill to the intersection with FR 730.
Or trailers park at the intersection of FR 106 & 730. |
