Providing access to South Fork Trail
#1827 the 3.5 mile Cliff Lake Trail is rated difficult. The first mile
is moderately sloping with a couple of level areas through meadows. The
next 2.5 miles are steep with switchbacks and rocky areas. To
reach Cliff Lake Trail from Rifle Colorado travel north along CO 13 for 3
miles and turn right onto Highway 325. Continue along 325 past Rifle Gape
(about 6 miles) and turn right onto CR 226. Follow CR 226 to CR 245
(Buford-New Castle Road). Travel along CR 245 to Hiner Spring (18 miles),
then right onto FR 601 for 2 miles to the trailhead. |
