Available for hiking & horseback riding,
the 7.75 mile Turret Creek Trail provides access to the Flat Tops
Wilderness as it climbs 3,220' along it's length. Turret Creek Trail ends
at it's junction with Turret-Crescent Trail and Shingle Peak Trail. To
reach Turret Creek Trail from Eagle Colorado, travel west along I-70 for 13
miles to the Dotsero exit and follow the signs for Sweetwater/Burns by
turning north onto Colorado River Road. Continue along Colorado River
Road for 7 miles and turn left onto Sweetwater Creek Road. Travel along
Sweetwater Creek Road for 11.5 miles and park near the Sweetwater
Wilderness Ranch cabins, or at Hilltop Ranch (about 0.25 miles away). To
access the trailhead go through the gate at Hilltop Ranch. |
