Fancy Pass Trail #2006

Available for both hiking and horseback
riding, Fancy Pass Trail travels 3.2 miles to Fancy Lake, 3.75 miles to
Fancy Pass, and 4.4 miles to Treasure Vault Lake. Fancy Pass Trail begins
with switchbacks up a forested slope, before crossing Fancy Creek over the
Zen Bridge. Crossing a small meadow at about mile 2.6 Fancy Pass Trail
becomes steeper as it begins it's climb to the lake. From the lake, it is
a steep climb and descent over Fancy Pass to Treasure Vault Lake. |

| To reach Fancy Pass Trail from
Vail Colorado, travel west along I-70 to exit #171 for Minturn, Leadville,
and Highway 24. Turn right onto Highway 24 and travel south for 13 miles
to Homestake Road #703. Turn right onto Homestake Road and continue past Gold Park
Campground to mile 8.5. Turn right onto Missouri Creek Road #704 and
continue 3 miles to the dirt road to a "T" at 10,200'. Turn
right, the trailhead will be on the left.
