Composed of 3 loops (including 1 loop for overflow
camping), the 44 site Elk Creek Campground is lightly wooded with
spruce & Ponderosa pines. Convenient to San Juan Wilderness, some
sites within Elk Creek Campground are located next to Elk Creek.
Camping sites 29-42 are within the overflow loop, with all other sites
being side-by-side pull throughs with no tables & only 7 grills.

To reach Elk Creek Campground from Antonito Colorado travel south along
US 285 for 0.3 miles to CO 17. Continue straight along CO 17 for 22.6
miles to campground sign and turn right onto the dirt road. Continue 0.1
mile to a "T" intersection and turn left. Travel 0.4 miles to
a "Y" intersection, bear right and continue into the
campground.
