Located within the Mount Evans Wilderness, the 3.5 mile Hell's Hole Trail
is rated as More Difficult. The Hell's Hole Trailhead has an elevation of
9,500' while it's destination is at 11,200'.
Traveling along West Chicago Creek for about 1.0 mile, the 2nd and 3rd
miles of Hell's Hole Trail are rocky but less steep. The trail ends at
Hell's Hole, the area opens to a meadow where alpine willows grow at the
base of Gray Wolf Mountain.

Trailhead Location:
6.5 miles south of Idaho Springs on Hwy 103, take the West Chicago Creek
Road for 3.0 miles. The trailhead starts at the end of the road. Walk
through the Chicago Creek Picnic Area.
