Swain County North Carolina Waterfalls

Juney Whank Falls

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Juney Whank Falls is about 90 feet high.

Trail Information

Directions:

From Bryson City, North Carolina drive two miles north on West Deep Creek Road until you enter the Deep Creek area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. In the park, continue another 0.75 miles to a parking lot where the paved road ends. Park your car.
At the northeast corner of the parking lot, look for the Juney Whank trailhead sign and follow the trail about 1/3 mile uphill to Juney Whank Falls. Note: just a few yards from the parking lot, you'll come to an un-marked fork in the trail. Take the left fork, away from Juney Whank Creek. Further up the hill, the foot trail joins a wider horse trail which leads to the falls.

Contributed by Charles Snodgrass, Innkeeper, Folkestone Inn B&B, at the Deep Creek entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, two miles north of Bryson City.
