How To Make Your Pet Portrait Fundraiser Successful.

You have received the certificates and samples from Mimbs Photography and have given your members certificates to go out and sell, now what? It is easy to sale to your members, you know how to contact them, you know they have pets and you know that they support your cause. The more difficult sales are to the people you do not know. Here are a few suggested ways to help increase your sales to the people in your area.

  1. Groomers. Pet groomers benefit from pet portrait fundraisers because they normally see an increase in business a week or two before picture day. Help your group while allowing the groomers in your area to help themselves. Contact the groomers in your area and remind them of the fact that many pet owners will have their pets groomed before picture day and ask them to contact all of their clients. The groomers may even sale certificates from their place of business for you. We will even give the owners of the grooming shop a free setting.

  2. Use your members. Ask each of your member to contact at least 6 people outside your organization that are pet owners. If you only have ten members and only half the people they contact buy a certificate then you already have 30 sales outside your ten members. That's 30 new people that may help support your group in the future.

  1. Pet Stores and Veterinarians. Ask the pet stores and Veterinarians to allow your group to place flyers or displays about the pet portrait fundraiser. Some will even agree to sale some of the certificates for you. We will even give the owners a free setting.

  2. Flyers. Flyers are one of the most economical ways to get the word out about your upcoming fundraiser. Check with your local Office Supply store, many will give you some paper and some may even make copies of your flyers. Then place them everywhere.

  3. Other Non Profit Groups. Find a non-profit group or school group and set something up with them to sell certificates. Even if you give them 5 of your $10 (plan A) for the certificates they sell, you are still ahead if they sell to people you would not otherwise approach. It works out nice for everyone, and your group may make contacts that work to your benefit.

  4. K9 and Search and Rescue. Contact your local Police and Rescue groups and invite them in to have their K9 and Rescue Force photographed. We are more than happy to waive the $10 fee for these community service helpers. It is great public relations and it's just a nice "Thank You" to our Police and Rescue squads.

We hope these tips help, they are taken from listening to what some of the Rescue groups have done in past fundraisers to promote their pet portrait fundraisers. If you have a suggestion that you think will help others in their fundraising promotion please let us know so we can add them.
