This short loop trail circles the picturesque Hale Lake. Hale Lake is a
popular fishing spot. The trail is rarely used, providing an opportunity
for solitude. This is also a lovely hike because the trail winds in and
out of the forest around the lake.

Directions:
From Speedwell, take US 21 south for four miles. At FS 57, turn right
and drive six miles until you reach signs for Hale Lake. NOTE: FS 57 may
be a difficult drive for some vehicles because of muddy spots that develop
after heavy rain. The parking area is on the left side of the road, south
of Hale Lake. |
