Dawson County Georgia Hiking Trails

Amicalola River Trail

Offering a look at an old homestead, logging roads and some really great views, the 2.6 mile Amicalola River Trail is rated moderate.

Beginning at the canoe ramp on the north end of the gravel parking lot on GA 53, Amicalola River Trail follows the river to the Class IV rapids called "Edge of the World" before climbing into the mountains of the Dawson Wildlife Management Area. Forming a loop, Amicalola River Trail returns to it's beginning.

To reach Amicalola River Trail from Dawsonville, Georgia, travel west along GA 53. The trailhead and parking is on your left before the bridge over the river.
