Holly River State
Park
Rating: Moderate
Ascending
the mountain through high country glens across Crooked Fork into a remote
area of the park, the 4.25 mile Wilderness Trail travels from Cabin no.9 to the former
site of the fire tower. Backtracking is then necessary to reach the
original trail. Returning to
and heading down Crooked Fork, the trail joins Laurel Fork and continues
downstream, ending at Cabin no. 1.

River State Park is located on WV 20, 32 miles south of Buckhannon and 20
miles north of Webster Springs. Interstate 79 running north/south through
central West Virginia offers access to WV 20 at several points.
