Beginning
with a slight climb from Cabin No. 9 within Holly River State
Park,
the
0.75 mile Salt Lick Trail travels around the mountain through a young forested area
and leads to some of the oldest and largest trees on the park.
This easy trail descends to the island in the Picnic Area and ends at the
Campground. (Note: The salt
licks along trail, hence the name).
