River State Park
Starting
from the foot bridge below Cabin # 9, the 1.5 mile High Rock Trail begins a steep climb
around a mountain, leading to a high tabletop rock on the ridge summit.
The ridge is dominated with Mountain Laurel, Flame Azaleas and Oak
Trees. High Rock Trail, which
is rated Strenuous, follows the
ridge and descends to the mouth of Big Run and ends at the campground
entrance.

River State Park is located on WV 20, 32 miles south of Buckhannon and 20
miles north of Webster Springs. Interstate 79 running north/south through
central West Virginia offers access to WV 20 at several points. |
