State Park
Length: 2.5 miles
Trailhead
is in Riverside Campground across from campsite 6. Trail follows the
Greenbrier River downstream to the mouth of Rock Run, then follows Rock
Run to the top of Workman Ridge, a climb of over 1,000 feet.
Near the top of the ridge is the old Jarvis/Workman Cabin, an
original pioneer cabin. The
trail ends at the Ann Bailey Trail.

A loop can be made by turning left on the Ann Bailey Trail and
following it to the Ann Bailey Lookout Tower (approx. 1.25 miles). Then
follow the Arrowhead Trail back down to Riverside Camp Ground.
Total distance for loop, 4.75 miles.
Directions:
Watoga
can be reached from north of Hillsboro and south of Mill Point on US
219. A sign directs you to Watoga State Park. From this point,
travel two miles on paved secondary road to the park entrance. An
alternative route is to turn from WV 39 at Huntersville and travel nine
miles to the north entrance of the park. |
