State Park
Rating: Moderate/Strenuous
Designated
as part of a backpack trail system, this trail extends from its northern
terminus near Blackwater Falls State Park south to it intersection with
the famed Appalachian Trail near the WV/VA
border in Monroe
County. Approx.
5.5 miles of the trail runs through Watoga State Park and Calvin
Price State Forest. Access to
the trail can be found at:
the top of Pyles Mountain on the North Entrance Road; along the Chicken
House Road; in the Beaver
Creek Campground; and along
the road between Watoga State Park and Calvin Price State Forest 0.3 mile
above the Beaver Creek Campground Road.

Directions:
Watoga
can be reached from north of Hillsboro and south of Mill Point on US
219. A sign directs you to Watoga State Park. From this point,
travel two miles on paved secondary road to the park entrance. An
alternative route is to turn from WV 39 at Huntersville and travel nine
miles to the north entrance of the park.
