Rating: Easy/Moderate
Following Turtletown Creek, the 3.8 mile Turtletown Creek
Trail forms a loop back to Shinbone Ridge. This trail offers views of the
Hiawassee River and 2 waterfalls. Turtletown Creek Trail also has a spur
trail which
leads to FSR #1166 for an extended hike back to the parking lot. Trailhead
is on the left.

Directions From Farner Tennessee:
Travel south along Highway 68 for 0.2 mile and turn
right. Cross the railroad tracks and bear to the left on all paved roads
for about 0.9 miles to the junction of FSR #1166 (there is a sign here for
the Turtletown Scenic Area). Turn right and follow FSR #1166 for 0.9 mile
to the junction of 1651 and turn left. Travel approximately 0.5 mile to
the parking lot. |
