Lover's Leap Loop Trail

The Lover's Leap Loop combines the Lover's Leap Trail and the Appalachian Trail to from a short hike along the French Broad River and a steep rocky ridge.

The Lover's Leap Loop starts at Silvermine trailhead parking area. The easiest route is to walk down the access road leading to the parking area at the Nantahala Outdoor Center, cross Silvermine Creek at the bridge and follow the Appalachian Trail (white blazes) along the French Broad River. After approximately a half mile, the trail climbs steeply through several switchbacks to Lover's Leap Ridge - a rock outcrop with numerous overlooks.

Directions:

From Hot Springs, go east on U.S. 25/70 across the French Broad River Bridge. Immediately after crossing the bridge, turn left Turn left at the first intersection on River Road and follow the signs to the Silvermine Trailhead.
