Rating: Strenuous
The
Jack Branch Trail combined with the River Ridge Trail offers panoramic
views of the French Broad River Valley and the surrounding peaks.
The
River Ridge Loop Trail begins across State Route 1304 at the Murray Branch
Recreation Area. This trail is blazed with yellow rectangles. Follow it to
the intersection with the Jack Branch Trail.

Directions:
From
Hot Springs, go east on US 25/70 across the French Broad River Bridge.
Immediately after crossing the bridge, turn left onto State Road 1304.
Turn right at the first intersection and continue on SR 1304 for 5 miles
to the Murray Branch Recreation Area. Follow the River Ridge Trail to the
intersection of the Jack Branch Trail.
