Madison County North Carolina Hiking Trails
Green
Ridge Trail
|
|
Length: 3.6 miles
Rating: Strenuous
Green
Ridge Trail can be combined with the Appalachian Trail and either Fork
Ridge Trail or Whiteoak Flats Trail to form a loop.
Green
Ridge Trail begins at the gate on FR 3509 and follows the gravel road for
one mile. Here the trail leaves the gravel road and follows an old woods
road into a cove. Then the trail steadily climbs to Green Ridge, crossing
the headwaters of Dry Creek several times. The trail eventually reaches
the crest of Green Ridge Ridge Mountain and follows it to its terminus
with the Appalachian Trail.
