Available for both Hiking & Horseback riding, the 8 mile Rich Creek Trail
provides access into the Buffalo Creek Wilderness Area. In general, the terrain
around Buffalo Peaks is only moderately rugged.
The easiest access to Rich Creek Trail is located off CR 22 (Weston Pass
Road) at the forest boundary, cross stream on a footbridge, turn right and
follow the trail leading upstream.

| Another access point is from FS 431. Drive to the end of the road, begin
following old jeep road. Follow 617 upstream (left). This section of the trail
is steep but provides quick access into Buffalo Meadows and the Rich Creek Trail
(about 4 miles). the Lynch Creek Trailhead is located here. |
