W Mountain Trail #1817

Forest
Available for Hiking, and Horseback Riding,
the 10.1 mile W Mountain Trail begins at an elevation of 11,500' and
travels in a southerly direction offering views of Trappers, Shingle,
Derby, and Turret Peaks. The trail continues south across W Mountain
dropping from the plateau to FR 616 on Derby Creek.

To reach Trappers Lake Trail from Meeker Colorado, travel along CO 13
for 1 mile to CR 8 and turn east. Continue along CR 8 for 39 miles to
Trappers Lake Road (FR 205 and turn south. Travel 10 miles along FR 205
to Outlet Trailhead. Follow Carhart Trail
#1815 around the east side of Trappers Lake to Trappers Lake Trail
#1816. Follow Trappers Lake Trail for 4 miles to the head of Fraser
Creek to Island Lakes Trail. Travel 2 miles along Island Lakes Trail to
W Mountain Trail which branches to the south.
