Trappers Lake Trail #1816

Available for Hiking, and Horseback Riding,
the 15 mile Trappers Lake Trail provides access up Fraser Creek to the
eastern part of Flat Tops Wilderness. Following Fraser Creek the trail
emerges onto Flat Tops Plateau 4 miles from the trailhead. The trail
then travels south crossing the headwaters of the South Fork of Whit
River, and the west side of Shingle Peak for 6 miles to a popular camping
area around Rim & Shepherd Lakes.

To reach Trappers Lake Trail from Meeker Colorado, travel along CO 13
for 1 mile to CR 8 and turn east. Continue along CR 8 for 39 miles to
Trappers Lake Road (FR 205 and turn south. Travel 10 miles along FR 205
to Outlet Trailhead. Follow Carhart Trail
#1815 around the east side of Trappers Lake to Trappers Lake Trail.
